Iguazu

Main Level

A long way to the International Airport in Buenos Aires, by bus, but I returned to the domestic airport which is close to the center of Buenos Aires, by the river delta.

I took a bus from the airport to my hostel. Not much to say about the town. It's tropical, warm, humid, not cheap, and all about the National Park. By the way, if you ever find your way there, the best way to get money from an uncrowded ATM, is when you are going to the Park. Right at the entrance you will find a closed room that has a good international ATM. There are some at a bank in town, but the waiting lines are usually very long. If you go there, make sure you go when that side of the bank is in the shade. The line is outside.

After a nice walk through the jungle, you can choose which level you want to visit first.

I started on the Main Level, mainly because the line to get on the train to Devil's Canyon was very long. It really doesn't matter, and the way I did it, found the Main Level fairly uncrowded. My first view of the falls was a shock. I think there is no waterfall that matches this one. Walks are in and out along the top, you can see one on the right edge. Take your time. It's amazing. The sights are wonderful, and with luck you will spot some tucans (I did not) and other birds and mammals.

Right here, on this level, was a very small clump of tourists, quickly bypassed. The rest was mostly very lightly populated.

You want to be alert, because you just never know what you might run across here, it could even be a butterfly or two.

Now, that's what I call a probiscus
